Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am

The Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am is one of the greatest golfing events to call the Grand Strand its home. Recently extended to be hosted on the Strand for three more years, the tournament has another familiar face on its roster.

The reigning FedExCup champion Jim Furyk recently committed to make his second consecutive appearance at the Celebrity Pro-Am. Furyk, who is also the PGA Tour Player of the Year, is just one of the many big-name golfers expected to be in attendance. Other commitments include, but aren’t limited to, John Daly, Woody Austin, and Kristy McPherson. Many others, such as Clemson alumni D.J. Trahan and four-time PGA Tour Winner and Myrtle Beach resident Dustin Johnson, are expected to also add their names to the roster.

The tournament, which has been in existence for 17 years, was originally hosted in Columbia but will come back to the Barefoot Resort Dye Club for the ninth year in a row. Mike & Mike in the Morning is expected to broadcast live from the tournament.

Monday after the Masters has become one of the biggest fundraisers in South Carolina history. Hosted by native band, Hootie & the Blowfish, the tournament has a long-list of former celebrity participants, including Edwin McCain, Bill Murray, Kyle Petty, Brett Favre, and Tiger Woods. The tournament supports all types of charities including the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation, the South Carolina Junior Golf Association, and Junior Golf Land. The first, the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation, benefits children of South Carolina educationally. It also throws support behind school music programs all across the nation. Altogether, the Monday after the Masters has raised more than $4 million dollars in its previous sixteen years. Spectators can purchase adult tickets for $15 each. The event is free for children under 12. These tickets will go on sale at 11 A.M. on February 26th at the House of Blues, Barefoot Resort pro shops, and all Ticketmaster Outlets. Make sure to pick yours up as soon as possible as this event has sold out for the past five years!
