Planning a trip to Myrtle Beach this summer with the family? Fathers grab your sons, uncles grab your nephews, and grandfathers grab your grandsons because while the ladies of your family head out for a tan or go shopping, you have the opportunity to play in a tournament in one of golf’s hottest destinations.

July 22-24 marks the 13th Annual Martin’s PGA Tour Superstore National Father & Son Team Classic. Open to any father/son type relationship, last year’s 54-hole competition attracted players from all over the states and even some foreign countries.

Play in a tournament that once attracted big names such as Lou Holtz, Jim Hodges, and Happ Lathrop.

Registration for the tournament will be held at Martin’s PGA Tour Superstore on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 8 am to 5 pm.

Practice rounds are available at a reduced rate at each of the host sites. The host sites range from Myrtlewood Golf Club to the Founders Club at Pawleys Island and all are very notable and play-worthy courses here on the Grand Strand.

The format for the tournament will vary from two man better ball, two man alternate shot, and two man’s captain’s choice.

The entry fee for teams who have previously participated will be $950. The entry fee for new teams will be $1175. These entry fees include: all golf related fees for all three rounds, lunch each day with unlimited beverages, closing day cook-out and awards ceremony, Father & Sons Skills Challenge, Demo Alley, premium golf balls, a tournament hat and shirt, and a Father & Son engraved bag tag.

So pack up the family and head down to beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a vacation full of fun, memories, and most importantly, golf.
